Rhino Render Farm Guide 2026: V-Ray, Enscape and Cloud GPU Options
V-Ray for Rhino • Grasshopper • Remote GPU workstation
A Rhino render farm is easy to find for V-Ray and hard to find for anything else. As listed on provider pages in November 2026, GarageFarm and RebusFarm accept V-Ray for Rhino, and Chaos Cloud renders V-Ray for Rhino from inside the plugin. Enscape, KeyShot and the other GPU tools many Rhino users rely on are not listed by these managed farms, so those users rent a remote GPU workstation, such as iRender, and run their own licensed copy there. Super Renders Farm lists V-Ray for Rhino across Rhino 5 to 8 on its Rhino page, provisioned on request, so confirm the V-Ray build with its support first. Fox Renderfarm and Ranch Computing do not list Rhino on their software pages.
- Renderer first: V-Ray for Rhino is the renderer the managed farms list; Enscape, D5 Render and Lumion workflows need a remote GPU machine.
- Farm support: GarageFarm lists V-Ray for Rhino 3.4 to 7, RebusFarm lists V-Ray for Rhino, Chaos Cloud renders it from the plugin, and Super Renders Farm provisions Rhino 5 to 8 on request.
- Grasshopper: bake the Grasshopper result into Rhino geometry before upload, because a farm renders the saved scene, not a live definition.
- Rhino version: Rhino 8 is the current commercial release, so confirm the farm supports the version your file was saved in.
- Cost on remote machines: iRender lists RTX 4090 machines from $8.20 per hour (checked November 2026), billed from boot to shutdown.
Last updated: November 6, 2026. Provider support was read from each company’s own software pages on that date.
A competition board is due at midnight, the facade is a Grasshopper definition with tens of thousands of panels, and every test render takes long enough to make coffee twice. That is the usual moment Rhino users start looking for a Rhino render farm, and the first surprise is how short the list becomes once you leave V-Ray.
1. Which Rhino renderers can you send to the cloud?
In practice only V-Ray for Rhino goes to managed render farms. Other renderers used with Rhino either run in real time on a single GPU or are not on the farms’ software lists, which leaves a rented remote machine as the cloud option.
Rhino renderers and where they can render
Which cloud option each common Rhino renderer can use, based on provider software pages.
| Rhino renderer | Managed farms listing it | Chaos Cloud | Remote GPU workstation |
|---|---|---|---|
| V-Ray for Rhino | GarageFarm, RebusFarm | Yes | Yes |
| Enscape for Rhino | None of the farms reviewed | No | Yes |
| KeyShot (Rhino plugin) | None of the farms reviewed | No | Yes |
| D5 Render (Rhino LiveSync) | None of the farms reviewed | No | Yes |
| Rhino Cycles (built in) | None of the farms reviewed | No | Yes |
2. Which render farms support Rhino in 2026?
Three managed services list V-Ray for Rhino, and remote workstations cover everything else. The order below is alphabetical.
Rhino support by provider
What each provider lists for Rhino, in alphabetical order. This is not a ranking.
| Provider | Service model | Rhino support as listed | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chaos Cloud | Cloud rendering from the developer of V-Ray | V-Ray for Rhino, submitted from inside the plugin | Billed in Chaos Credits sold in annual packs; renders Chaos products only |
| GarageFarm | Managed farm | Rhinoceros with V-Ray, per its supported apps and V-Ray for Rhino pages | Lists V-Ray 3.4 to 7 and selectable CPU or GPU nodes |
| iRender | Remote GPU workstation (IaaS) | Any Rhino renderer you install | RTX 4090 from $8.20 per hour and RTX 5090 from $10.80 per hour, checked November 6, 2026 |
| RebusFarm | Managed farm | V-Ray for Rhino | Lists V-Ray 3.x and V-Ray Next on its Rhino page; Rhino versions not stated, so confirm with support |
If your project is V-Ray based, compare the managed options first: they split frames across many nodes and you skip machine setup entirely. If the deliverable comes from Enscape, KeyShot or D5, the managed farms are out and the decision is simply which GPU to rent.
3. How do you send a Grasshopper-driven model to a render farm?
Render farms render geometry, not live Grasshopper definitions. Bake the final Grasshopper result into Rhino geometry before you export or submit, so the farm receives a static scene that matches what you approved.
Heavy parametric facades also stress memory. Very dense meshes can exhaust RAM or VRAM long before render time becomes the problem, and our guide to Rhino and V-Ray crashes on complex geometry covers how to spot that early. Using V-Ray proxies for repeated elements and checking texture resolution keeps scene size under control on any service.
4. Managed farm or remote workstation for Rhino?
Pick by renderer first and by workload second. A managed farm suits V-Ray for Rhino animations and large still batches, while a remote GPU machine suits real-time tools, KeyShot, and projects with plugins a farm does not carry.
Managed farm or remote workstation for Rhino
Which cloud option usually fits each situation, and why.
| Your situation | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| V-Ray stills or animation, many frames | Managed farm or Chaos Cloud | Frames run in parallel and nothing to maintain |
| Enscape or D5 walkthroughs | Remote GPU workstation | Real-time tools render where the app is open |
| KeyShot product or detail shots | Remote GPU workstation | Not listed by the managed farms reviewed |
| Unusual plugins or a brand new Rhino release | Remote GPU workstation | You install exactly the versions you need |
A remote workstation brings its own costs. On iRender and similar IaaS services, billing runs until you shut the machine down, and the first setup takes roughly 15 to 30 minutes while you install Rhino, plugins and licenses. iRender’s pricing page lists its data center as Uptime Tier III with ISO 27001, ISO 20000 and ISO 9001 certifications, and the company provides an NDA document for projects that need one (checked November 2026).
5. How do you decide where a Rhino job should render?
The renderer and the type of output settle most Rhino cases. V-Ray for Rhino stills and animations can go to a managed farm or to Chaos Cloud, where the scene is split across nodes and you never maintain the hardware. Enscape, D5 Render and Lumion render inside a desktop application on one GPU, so those jobs need a remote workstation with the application and your license installed. Figure 5.1 maps the common Rhino renderers to the two cloud options.

Model size and plugins come next. Large NURBS models with many blocks render fine on a farm once they are saved as a complete file, but third party Rhino plugins that generate geometry at render time may not exist on the farm. Baking that geometry, as with Grasshopper, removes the dependency. On a remote workstation you can install the same plugins you use locally, at the cost of handling setup and transfers yourself.
Budget follows the service model. Managed farms charge per render unit or credit, so a short test frame costs little. A remote machine bills for every hour it is switched on, which suits a planned session and punishes a forgotten shutdown.

7. FAQ
Is there a render farm for Enscape in Rhino?
Not among the managed farms reviewed for this guide. Enscape is a real-time renderer that runs inside the Rhino session on a single machine, so it cannot be distributed across farm nodes. The cloud option is a remote Windows workstation with a strong GPU, where you install Rhino and Enscape and activate your own licenses. Check Enscape’s license terms for remote use before you start.
Does Chaos Cloud work with V-Ray for Rhino?
Yes. Chaos lists Rhino among the V-Ray hosts with a native Chaos Cloud integration, so you can submit a job from inside V-Ray for Rhino. The service is billed in Chaos Credits. It only renders Chaos products, so it does not help with Enscape, KeyShot or D5.
Which Rhino version do render farms support?
It varies and is not always published. GarageFarm and RebusFarm list V-Ray versions for Rhino, but RebusFarm does not state Rhino versions on its Rhino page. If your file was saved in Rhino 8, the current release according to McNeel, confirm with the farm before submitting a paid job, or use a remote workstation where you install the version yourself.
Can I render a Grasshopper animation on a render farm?
You can render the result, not the live definition. Bake each state you need into Rhino geometry, or export the animation from V-Ray for Rhino in a form the farm accepts, then submit that. For complex parametric animations, many users find it simpler to run the whole pipeline on a remote workstation where Grasshopper and all plugins are installed exactly as on their own PC.
Is a remote workstation slower than a local PC for Rhino?
For modeling, a remote desktop adds some latency, because each viewport frame travels over the network, so navigation feels less direct than on a local screen. Rendering runs on the remote GPU and is not slowed by the connection. A practical split is to model locally, upload the finished file, and use the remote machine for heavy renders in Enscape, D5 Render or V-Ray GPU. Check the GPU model and VRAM the provider lists, because a scene that does not fit in the card memory will fail or fall back no matter where the machine sits.
