Octane Render Farms in 2026: NVIDIA GPU Nodes, Licences and Host Apps
Octane • NVIDIA GPU • Licences
OctaneRender only runs on NVIDIA GPUs, so an Octane render farm is a GPU farm. The deciding questions are which host app you use, which Octane build the farm installs and how the farm handles licences. As of November 2026 the current release is OctaneRender 2026.4, and most farm pages do not state which Octane version they run.
- Host app first: Cinema 4D has the widest farm support. Blender and Houdini are often “on request”.
- NVIDIA only: Octane on Windows and Linux needs a CUDA 10-capable NVIDIA GPU. AMD is not supported.
- Versions: Only Super Renders Farm names a build (Octane for Cinema 4D 1.9.3, core 2026.3). The other farms say “latest” or give no version.
- Licences: None of the Octane pages we read explains licence handling. Ask the farm in writing.
- Free credit: RebusFarm, Fox Renderfarm and GarageFarm offer trial credit. Use it for a three-to-five-frame test.
Last updated: November 7, 2026. Details come from each provider’s own pages. We did not test these farms for this guide.
1. How do you choose an Octane render farm?
Start with your host app and the Octane build, then check licences and GPU memory. OctaneRender 2026.4 was released on July 7, 2026 (CG Channel). Version 2026.3, covered by Digital Production, added virtual textures on network render nodes and lists NVIDIA driver R555 as the minimum, or R572 for GeForce RTX 50 series cards. Those driver numbers matter when a farm node runs an older driver.
1.1. Match the host plugin and the Octane build
Octane comes as a plugin for about 20 host apps, including Cinema 4D, Blender, 3ds Max, Maya and Houdini. A scene made with one plugin version may not open the same way in another, and Super Renders Farm warns that older Octane 3.x scenes for Cinema 4D may need a colour space check. Save your scene with the build the farm lists, or ask which build it installs.
1.2. Check the licence model
OTOY sells Octane as a Studio+ subscription, listed at 23.95 EUR per month billed monthly or 19.99 EUR per month billed yearly (OTOY purchase page; its checkout shows 23.99 EUR for the monthly plan, so confirm at checkout). Studio+ includes 10 or more render node licences, limited to 10 by default. That covers your own machines and OTOY’s network. How a commercial farm licenses its nodes is a separate question that the farm pages we read do not answer.
1.3. Plan for GPU memory
Octane renders on the GPU, and OTOY mentions out-of-core geometry support. Large textures and geometry still render best when they fit in memory. iRender and Super Renders Farm list RTX 5090 cards with 32 GB. Our Octane GPU render farm speed article looks at speed in more detail.
2. Which farms list Octane, and for which host apps?
Farm pages describe Octane support in very different detail. The table copies what each page says. A blank is a gap in the page, not a sign that the feature is missing.
Octane host apps and versions by provider
Taken from each provider’s own pages, read November 7, 2026.
| Provider | Host apps named | Octane version as stated | GPU hardware |

| GarageFarmmanaged farm | Octane as a Cinema 4D plugin; farm works with Cinema 4D, Maya, Blender | Not stated | “Optimized for GPU render”; models not named |
| Super Renders Farmmanaged farm | Cinema 4D standard; Blender and Houdini on request; 3ds Max and Maya not listed | Cinema 4D: 1.9.3 (core 2026.3, GPU), verified July 8, 2026 | GPU nodes; RTX 5090 32 GB on its Blender page |
| iRenderremote GPU machine | Cinema 4D article; Houdini and Blender pages linked | Not stated | Up to 8x RTX 5090 32 GB, Threadripper PRO, 256 GB ECC RAM |
3. How do Octane render farms bill and offer free credit?
Billing units are not stated on the Octane pages we read, so the table shows the free credit each farm advertises and where billing detail was available elsewhere. Do not compare these figures as prices.
Free credit and billing notes by provider
As stated on each provider’s pages, read November 7, 2026.
| Provider | Free credit as stated | Billing notes as stated |
|---|---|---|
| RebusFarmmanaged farm | S$ 37.76 free trial | Octane page gives no pricing unit; see its pricing page |
| Fox Renderfarmmanaged farm | $25 free trial | Depends on CPU or GPU mode, frames, resolution and hardware; failed frames are not charged (per its Cinema 4D page) |
| GarageFarmmanaged farm | Free render credits, amount not on that page | Depends on project complexity, resolution and render time; calculator |
| Super Renders Farmmanaged farm | $25 starter credit (per its Blender page) | GPU billed per OctaneBench-hour at $0.003 (per its Blender page); Octane licence handling not stated |
| iRenderremote GPU machine | First-deposit bonus mentioned on its Blender page | Per machine-hour; $8.20 for 1x RTX 4090 and $65.60 for 8x in its Blender example |
4. Managed farm or remote GPU machine?
4.1. Managed farms
RebusFarm, Fox Renderfarm, GarageFarm and Super Renders Farm take your scene, check it and split frames across GPU nodes. This suits animations, where many frames render in parallel. The cost is less control: you depend on the farm’s installed Octane build and plugins.
4.2. Remote GPU machine
iRender rents you a machine, and you connect by remote desktop and run your own Octane install. Its Cinema 4D page lists up to 8x RTX 5090 with 32 GB of memory each and a video titled with a 300-frame run on 4x RTX 5090 in 1 hour 18 minutes (a provider figure, not a test we ran). You control the build and plugins, and you manage the session. iRender’s pricing page lists Tier III data centres with ISO 27001, 20000 and 9001 certifications, and NDA documents are available. Those are provider statements, and the Octane page does not say whether you bring your own licence.
5. How do you prepare an Octane scene for cloud rendering?
- Match the build: open the scene in the Octane and host versions the farm lists, and fix any material warnings.
- Check textures: use relative or packed paths so every texture travels with the file. See our guide to missing textures on a render farm if frames render grey.
- Bake what you can: cache simulations and particle systems before upload, because the farm renders frames, not your viewport state.
- Check GPU memory: watch VRAM use on a test frame. If it nears the limit, reduce texture sizes or split the scene.
- Run test frames: send 3 to 5 frames first and compare noise, memory and cost.

6. FAQ: Octane render farm questions
What is the best Octane render farm?
There is no single answer. It depends on your host app, your Octane version, how the farm handles licences and your budget. This page compares what each provider states on its own pages, not benchmark results. For architecture work, see our Octane render farm review for arch-viz and the overview of Octane render farms.
Does OctaneRender work on AMD GPUs?
No. On Windows and Linux, Octane needs an NVIDIA GPU with CUDA 10 support, according to OTOY’s purchase page. Octane X runs on Apple Silicon Macs. A render farm has to offer NVIDIA nodes for Octane scenes.
Can I render Octane scenes from Blender or Houdini on a farm?
Super Renders Farm lists Octane for Blender and Houdini as provisioned on request, not as a standard install. Other farms we checked do not state Blender or Houdini support for Octane on the pages we read. Ask before you upload. Our guides to the Houdini Octane render farm cover that host.
Do I need my own Octane licence on a render farm?
The pages we read do not explain licence handling for Octane, so ask each farm in writing. OTOY’s Studio+ plan includes 10 or more render node licences for network rendering, but that is OTOY’s own allowance and does not tell you how a commercial farm licenses its nodes.
How much VRAM does an Octane scene need?
It depends on the scene. OTOY mentions out-of-core geometry support, but heavy textures and geometry still run best when they fit in GPU memory. iRender and Super Renders Farm list RTX 5090 cards with 32 GB. Run a short test and watch memory use before you queue a full animation.
